The Monster Resistance - Part 1

Comic. Wordlessly, each monochromatic panel flows into the next, giving it a dreamlike quality.

Panel 1:
Saskori the Cybunny points at a tree of the Haunted Woods, sentient and with a treehouse nestled in its branches. Saskori hold the paw of her Petpet, April the Tamed Mini-Monster with her other hand.

Panel 2:
Mirroring the first panel, a young Saskori is holding the hand of her mother, Saskia, as her mother points down a path surrounded by trees.

Panel 3:
The town of Neovia sits under a starry, moonlit night, with the clocktower showing midnight.

Panel 4:
Deep, deep under Neovia lies the catacombs, where an Ixi named Starla lights a room using her light magic, revealing a glowing Xweetok, incarnate of her light magic, but also a shadowy Acara, incarnate of something else...

Panel 5:
Saskori stands at the edge of a clearing in the forest. What is that strange, glowing, flickering light she's staring at? Her shadow stretches far into the night, until it finally encompasses all.

Suddenly, an art shift, rendering the panels traditionally with borders and speech bubbles.

Panel 6:
Off-screen: Wake up, Saskori!
Saskori is in bed, eyes closed, tossing and turning.

Panel 7:
Nathan looks concerned as Saskori sits up.
Saskori: I had that dream again.
